The Para Sports Association of the City of Rijeka (PSA CR) was founded in 2009 in Rijeka, Croatia, with the mission to integrate people with disabilities into society through sport.
PSA CR is driven to contribute to the equal rights of all citizens, preventing the social exclusion of people with disabilities. The association has the mission to develop and spread sports and recreational activities among persons with disabilities, while promoting the educational functions of sport, fair play, tolerance and responsibility through sport activities.
PSA CR takes part in the process of defining the organizational criteria for the competition system in the Republic of Croatia and develops programs for international and regional cooperation, including as many sports clubs for persons with disabilities in the process as possible.
Next to organizing sport activities for persons with disabilities and strengthening of the Paralympic principles through cooperation, PSA CR ensures the financial resources for these activities.
Projects PSA CR is working on:
- KIDS: this project devotes itself to the implementation of newly acquired and expanded professional knowledge, while also practicing systematic capacity building of professionals
- S4E (Swim for everyone): PSA CR aims to increase knowledge about integration through sport with swimming instructors playing a fundamental role in the involvement of children and the development of knowledge
